Better Off is an MIT-founded tech startup for in-person social experiences and better weekends.

What does that mean? We're a marketplace like Amazon—but for IRL Social instead of products, like:

The Better Off platform lets users join curated social events and meet new people outside work and dating apps—through real-life experiences.

Our custom AI makes sure users are surrounded by the people they want to connect with, such as artists, entrepreneurs, singles, couples, adventure partners, foodies, travel buddies, etc.

🚀 We’re launching in major cities this year, and we’re looking for a Social Experiences Manager to join our 12-person team as our first dedicated social experiences/operations hire. You’ll work directly with the CEO to plan, organize, and scale Better Off events, making sure every experience is incredible.
 

It means brainstorming great experiences, setting up the logistics, then running them (and often joining them as well).

This is a high-impact, high-ownership role—you’ll be at the forefront of building a new category: IRL Social.

🔹 What You'll Do

✔ Plan and oversee social experiences—from ski trips to trivia nights, making sure every event is a hit.
✔ Manage and scale our events pipeline—using our platform to build and optimize experiences in multiple cities.
✔ Oversee and coordinate part-time event hosts—hiring, training, and ensuring events run smoothly.
✔ Work with marketing to promote events—ensuring they get the right audience and social buzz.
✔ Attend events to ensure quality & capture content—you’ll be hands-on, making sure everything runs smoothly while grabbing social media content.
✔ Brainstorm and launch new experiences—develop fresh ideas to create unforgettable social events.
✔ Expand Better Off’s event footprint—help bring our social experiences to cities across the U.S.
✔ Handle event logistics & partnerships—coordinating with venues, vendors, and experience providers.
