About Us: SearchOwl is an innovative tech startup in the e-commerce space. We offer a personalized, ad-free shopping platform for skincare needs, allowing users to find exactly what they're looking for through specific, long-form prompts. We provide CPG brands with first-party e-commerce and marketing analytics.
Internship Duration: Summer 2025 (approximately May 26 to August 22)
Position Type: Paid ($5,000 stipend) , Remote (possibility for in-person collaboration if in the Cleveland area)
Work Schedule: Expectation to work 40h a week with availability from 9AM-5PM (EST) MF
Learning Opportunity: This internship is designed as a learning opportunity for students and young professionals seeking real-world experience in a small tech startup environment. You'll gain hands-on experience in back-end development, machine learning, optimization, data structures, and system controls within a growing e-commerce platform.
Who We're Looking For: We welcome applications from college students and young professionals with AWS experience. The ideal candidate is self-driven, tech-savvy, willing to learn on new projects, and confident in offering new suggestions and improvements. We want someone who is eager to learn and grow as a developer through project-based work.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Pursuing or have completed a BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or any technology-based degree relevant to the responsibilities of this role
- At least 6 months of AWS experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AWS services, specifically S3, EC2, and/or DynamoDB
- Experience with machine learning tools and optimization algorithms
- Experience with building data infrastructure and data mining
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up data structures for our platform
- Design personalization features via machine learning
- Implement system controls
- Innovate and improve our data pipeline
- Participate in projects that align with your skills and career ambitions
- Offer suggestions and improvements to our existing systems
- Learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies as needed
